About My Predictions
Sep 11th, 2009 | By Fiona | Category: Fiona's diaryFor many months, I posted psychic and astrological predictions at this website and as podcasts. I’ve discontinued them, for three main reasons:
- Time – The astrological work took me about a week, each month.
- Frustration – At least 90% of the people who consult me, don’t actually follow my advice, even when it’s more common sense than anything mystical.
- The search for shortcuts – I’m not convinced that we’re supposed to look for previews, instead of treading the path as The Fool. I also believe that messages (and sometimes foreshadowing) are all around us, if we just look for them.
That said, if you’d like to find someone to provide predictions, there are many wonderful, professional astrologers. They have far more expertise than I do.
There are two astrologers whose work I admire. The first is David Wells, who gives monthly overviews at his website and daily predictions in a large newspaper (also online). David is a friend and also a psychic, and I respect his calm attitudes and finely-tuned skills with astrology.
The other is Michael Lutin — whom I’ve met and liked — whose wit (and willingness to go out on a limb) make him stand out in the crowd. You’ll either love him or yawn.
Also, since childhood I’ve enjoyed the monthly astrology forecasts in Town & Country magazine. (Though I don’t take them — or any astrologer — very seriously.)
On the other hand…
If you’d like to learn how to read your own chart and understand what’s going on with the stars, there’s just one book worth owning. It’s Secrets from a Stargazer’s Notebook, by Debbi Kempton-Smith.
(Her website has an article from 2006, plus a paid service that… well, you can figure most of this stuff out on your own, from her book, for a lot less. And, you’ll have the bonus of a deeper understanding of why things happen when they do.)
Here’s how to get the most from her book:
- Subscribe to any free email astrology newsletter that tells you what the planets are going to do in the upcoming month. The New Moon Report may be one of the most comprehensive. (You may like their interpretations, too, but that’s not why I recommend them.)
- Look up those planets in the Stargazer book, to see how their changes may affect your life.
- If and when your ‘gut feeling’ tells you something a little different, pay attention to it.
Really, that’s all there is to it.
