Supportive evidence

saleminn2-illusDuring GhoStock 7 and a paranormal investigation at the Salem Inn, I saw the importance — and practicality — of using two research tools for mutual credibility.

At the inn, the Ovilus (which “speaks” to us) said some very interesting things.  What made it even more compelling was the flash of lights on the K-II meter across the room.

Almost every time the Ovilus began to speak, the K-II was already flashing.

(Yes, we checked to be sure that the two devices weren’t directly affecting each other. )

This experience helped me to see (no pun intended) the importance of multiple investigative tools to confirm (or raise questions about) each others’ results.

I’m not sure that I’d take every research tool seriously enough to claim it as supporting evidence.  For example, people can push a glass around a table or a platen on a Ouija board.  So, if the K-II meter flashed and then we saw divinatory activity, I don’t think it’d add much credibility to the latter.

However, if the Ouija board spelled out something and then the Ovilus said the exact same word or words… that would interest me.

We’re at a very exciting point in paranormal research.  New tools are opening dramatically better opportunities to understand what causes some hauntings.

Working with a combination of those tools can be an important element in our research, and provide increasing credibility as well.

From what I saw this weekend, I recommend the K-II meter and an audio tool such as the Ovilus or the Puck, working together.
