Remote Location Scout

My schedule is ridiculously overbooked through the end of 2023.
(Because: I seem to think my days have more than 24 hours in them. Or something.)

Check back in 2024.

Fiona Broome regularly works with publishers and producers as a consultant and remote location scout. She loves discovering “hidden” haunted places by using history, ley lines, and a dash of psychic “hmm, there’s something about that location…”

And she does it all from the comfort of her own home.

Then, for producers, Fiona enjoys sharing those locations – and their histories – with others. She takes delight in learning what investigators discover, confirming her speculation.

For publishers, Fiona is able to add more color and depth to “ghost stories,” so readers discover history and related sites that others hadn’t explored.

If you’d like to work with Fiona on a current or upcoming project, leave a comment below. (No one else will see it; Fiona will get back to you as soon as she can.)

Biography

Following a rich and wonderful childhood in New England, Fiona has lived in several states – including California, Utah, Texas, and Florida – and traveled internationally.

As an adult, Fiona’s fascination with history led to some eerie, ghostly encounters. Remembering childhood ghost stories, she began looking for “haunted” places to investigate, and – in the mid-1990s – shared her adventures at her GeoCities blog.

In 1999, she launched HollowHill.com for fellow ghost enthusiasts, especially those in the U.S., the U.K., and Ireland.

Since then, she’s written over a million words about ghosts and haunted places.

Those include articles in the Weird U.S. series (Weird Hauntings and Weird Encounters), and Armchair Readers (Weird, Scary, and Unusual, and Kick’n’ Back in Texas). Her own books include The Ghosts of Austin, Texas (Schiffer Books), and Ghost Hunting in Haunted Cemeteries, Is Your House Haunted, and 101 Ghost Hunting Questions, Answered (New Forest Books).

She’s also been an invited Guest at sci-fi, fantasy, and ghost-related events including Dragon Con, GhoStock, G.H.O.S.T.S., New England Ghost Conference, and Central Texas Paranormal Conference.
